Hair straighteners?

i have long thick hair and need some new straighteners. Are GHD's actually the best out there or do you know of any as good or better. (and if possible, cheaper).Hair straighteners?
Superdrug do pink ones for 拢12. They are digital, varible heat control etc. High heat 210-215 degrees. Really good. I have horrible frizzy coarse hair %26amp; most straighteners are no good to me but these are excellent. Would never never never pay for ghd's nowHair straighteners?
i have thick hair..

i use the cheapest str8ner

and it comes out..dead str8

quality doesnt matter for me

Kodo straighteners, I think they are more reliable and cheaper.
YUP...ghdz r definatly the BEST ......
i saw some at sharper image, and i heard from a friend that they work, but they cost around $50

if that is outside your budget, i would browse through walgreens or target for a good one
GHDs are good

so are t3s

i have naturally long curly hair too and both work really well for me
the new one by conair works really well and at some stores you can get it for $45 chi also works good but they usually cost more
dont get conair. it sucks well it did for me it was like using a hair dryer it takes probably like an hour or longer to straighten with it. i bought a yourstyler usually sell at malls really good.
They are good, but not the best.

Tourmaline is the new ceramic, but it will come at a cost.

I recently purchased some fantastic H2D straighteners on ebay for 拢15 and they are absolutely brilliant, better than my last ones which were hairtools (another expensive, yet respected brand)
If you have thick hair, i`m afrid GHD`s are the best love. I went to wakestock this summer (music Fest) and what with all the camping n stuff I felt like poo. But luckily there was a GHD beauty salon trailer there and after every trip I felt a million dollors, even though i hadn`t washed for days and the toilet`s were rank!!!!
Hmm well okay the good brands out there , for a really good straightner would have to be the metal ones..and those are like $150. i stick with conair ;) or my blowdryer for best results. %26amp; yeah my hair is helluh thick.
Well i also have long, thick hair and the straightners used never worked. Either pulled my hair out or just wasnt straight enough. Then got the MAXIGLIDE , im an infomerical queen so ive always wanted to try it, so i did and i have to say it is THE BEST strightner i have ever used. It used to take me an hr to staighten my hair, ever since maxiglide it just takes bout a half hr and your hair is so striaght and very soft even if you have corse hair like I do . Best invention created in my opinion. I got it at Linens and Things cost bout 80 bucks but its a GREAT investment. GL
ghds
Conair is not good i have long thick hair too.

Try herstyler.

get Ceramic ones
GHDS are the braest wons out thare, but i HHAV neaturl strahgt hare, soh itc dosnent reely booher me, u no?
You cant go cheap if you want a good straightner.. good ones r CHI and CREOLIS.. they leave your hair straight and smoth and they dont burn your hair
I use Jibere, but it's a professional straightener. My hair is also long and thick, but it works like magic.

It'll probably set you back $70-$80, but it's worth it.

You can also buy a straightening hair dryer. It's a dryer with a straightening attachment that holds the hair in place while you dry it straight. That way, your hair is straighter when you go to use a flat iron on it, and you can use a non-professional, cheaper straightening iron.
well conair has the best stuff but i dont know if they have straighteners though. i hope that helped.
read about whch type is best for your hair http://www.greathairdirect.com/ghd-hair-鈥?/a>
The Babyliss Thermaglass Wide hair straightener uses unique ultra smooth glass plates and has been recently reduced in price by about 40%.

It also comes with its own stand which is really useful as hair straighteners are super hot.
I have long thick hair.

CHI irons are the best.

Not all that cheap but very worth it

I have a 2'' bed head straightener and i love it. i think it works really well. you can get it at a lot of places like target, walmart, meijer, places like that. it will cost about $70.
Does not matter the brand just make sure it is negative ionic ceramic straitener.

    some brands are

    sedu

    chi

    pro-select

    hai
The sedu is a really good straightener.
CHI is one of the best straightners i have one and it is really good it heats up fast and is AMAZING
I have a simple 2 inch one from conair. It works pretty well and I always use paul mitchell gloss drops afterwards.
I have Chi and i don't really like it. I like HAI
CHI is the best, no doubt about it!

    Hair Straighteners?

im looking into buying a new hairstraightener.

    i currently own a Remington Wet2Straight.

from what ive heard in research, i think im going to purchase a Sedu Flat Iron.

    what kind do you own?

does it keep your hair straight all day?

    is it ceramic?

    do you recomend it?Hair Straighteners?
Try something a little more salon-professional. I own a Solia %26amp; it goes up to 450, but make sure your using heat spray before each time you iron your hair. I would also recommend the Paul Mitchell, but I've had problems in the past with the cord shorting. %26amp; yes I've heard the Sedu is a very good one. My hair is naturally really wavy, thick %26amp; course %26amp; it stays straight all day. Might I recommend going tro Folica.com %26amp; you can find it %26amp; read people's reviews.Hair Straighteners?
yeah im getting a new straightener too

and from the research ive done for the past two weeks,

    im getting a sedu.

i currently have a chi and its ok

but it doesnt do too good for my hair,

it kills it and makes it dry

and it doesnt even straighten my hair all the way

so i dont recommend the chi

    unless you have managable hair.

the sedu straightener has everything needed in a good straightener

it has adjustable temperature up to 450 degrees

and it has ceramic/ionic tourmaline technology.

although the FHI is the best you can get.

its like 450 dollars.......yeah deffinitely not spending that much.

i think the sedu is the way to go!

    good luck =)
I own a GHD straightener. Yes it keeps my hair straight all day. It is a ceramic straightener. I definitely recommend it because it does more than just straighten it also curls, waves and flips your hair out. It is the number 1 selling flat iron in the UK but it is pricey. Celebs like Madonna and Cameron Diaz own it according to their website. With any straightener I always recommend you get a thermal protector for your hair. I recommend a flat iron with tourmaline over ceramic. Tourmaline protects your hair more than ceramic. This is relatively new technology so I do not own one since my GHD is still working great. CHI has several flat irons that have tourmaline and they are very popular- so you can probably find better deals on Chi and their products will be more available.
i recommend a chi it works amazingly for me, but a little bit pricey
chi. its ceramic and it works really well and leaves your hair soft :)

My hair straighteners smell burnt and also make my hair smell burnt! help! are they broken?

I have had them for around a year.. but only recently started using them daily (for the past 2-3 months or so).

In the past couple of days I have noticed that they've been making my hair smell burnt, and also now, that the plates smell burnt! My hair straighteners smell burnt and also make my hair smell burnt! help! are they broken?
well that is because it when you straight your hair it take lil bit of hair and some are really wird....but some hair is in your straighter and are bruning inside it and that is y and some of the brut hair might be stiking to your hair that might be y...

    hope you get it fixed..

good luck xMy hair straighteners smell burnt and also make my hair smell burnt! help! are they broken?
The heat setting is very high and there seems to be a lot of product in your hair. Holding sprays and spritz are all like glue. Glue that has literally cooked onto your curlers. Clean them with a mixture of dishwashing liquid and shampoo. With a very damp (NOT WET) cloth. The next time you use them try not to use so many chemicals at such a high setting. Try to clean them after every use so nothing can cook onto them and solidify.
yes throw it away mine did the same thing!!

mine even melted the plastic around it and got plastic in my hair so yes throw it away!!

i dont know why it did this but you could try to take it back?

    but yea its not good!!
They are probably just worn out and will break soon. My old ones started doing that after I had been using them a lot. You should get new hair straighteners because mine started giving me electric shocks shortly after this faze when I went to unplug them. Try one of the new ghd brands because they tend to last longer.

    Hope this helps you x
    You need a trim!

    Nothing wrong with your straightners

    Your hair is just singed
probably have hair products stuck to them
erm it smells like it!! :0) For your hairs sake, get some new ones, GHD's are excellent!!
You might be over using it and your hair problem needs a fresh cut. If you over straighten your hair it gets dry and frissy so that might be a sign your burning you hair. Or it might just be the straightener... is it a cheap one? i would try CHI.. i use it everyday and my hair never gets burnt and it really works fantastic! I would try that..
    Hey

    My friends did that,

i think that they are either just old

or they were one of the cheaper ones,

    or a lower standard brand.

dont worry about your hair too much - unless it still smells burnt after you've washed it.

    :)
Does your flat iron have 100% ceramic plates? If not maybe the ceramit coating wore off and now your damaging your hair. Or how high is the temp. turned up on the iron, maybe it's too hot?
if those are the cheap straighteners, the ones u can get for $15-30, they might be broken

or maybe you're straightening your hair when its wet or damp, which you should ever do

OR try using this: Alberto VO5 Extreme Style Heat Defense Conditioning Spray

it protects hair from getting burned by straighteners or blowdryers
    mine do the same sometimes..

i think they probs just need a clean, clean the plates with a damp cloth (not when hot!).

That should do the trick !
that means you have it turned up way too high.

when i was getting my hair cut, she told me if you smell burnt hair while your striaghtening, or thats what your striaghtener smells like, turn it down! :]

if you have it turned up high it will give you bad split ends, and nobody likes those!

    Good hair straighteners pleasee?

alrighty, ive just realized my straightener is a piece of crap, so im trying to find a new one. i have a friend who owns a chi and says its like the best straightener. she can get her hair straight in like 5 minutes, but idk if that's just her hair or the straightener. so ive come to ask you guys which straightener would be best to use, im kind of set on getting a chi, but they're expensive. i want a really really good one that doesn't cost too much, takes less time to straighten hair, and doesn't damage it too much, and it doesn't really haaaave to be a chi. also maybe in a fun color ? haha yes(: also are there any good straightening products that keep your hair straight, not frizzy, all day long ? so yeah, thanks in advance !Good hair straighteners pleasee?
the chi and the instylerGood hair straighteners pleasee?
i had this same exact problem a couple weeks ago..i bought the Solia professional hair straightener and it is amazinggg. i ordered it from folica.com for about 86 dollars

what i love about this straightener is that it keeps my hair straight all day long..even when its humid outside. my hair is wavy/curly and frizzy.

also inlike the CHI straightener the Solia has tourmaline plates which helps keep the hair hydrated and doesn't damage it like most straighteners.
if you have a little extra money,

    get a GHD.

the chi's break easily, and they're basically just knock-off's of the GHD.

salons and celebrity hairstylists use the GHD.

the only bad thing about it is the price.

    they range from $220 - $270.

but they are DEFINITELY worth it.

and for heat protectant, use chi 44 iron guard.
i think that the best one ive ever used was solia. Its makes my hair so silky and pin straight. Your just in luck because the company is is having a 50% off sale with free shipping. hope this helps!
I use an Amika that I purchased at the mall. It was about $100, but it really works well and fast! I don't even need to use straightening products. My hair always comes out soft, shiny and super straight!
I would go with the Chi. I have one and so do my friends. Its definitely worth the money.
I have both an infinity and a nano tech straightener. I like the nano tech one better.( It's silver with light blue straightening plates.) I use that one more often because it's easier to maneuver and seems to keep my hair straight longer (2 days without contact with water). As for products, I use Suave heat styling spray or Beyond the Zone Turn Up the Heat spray. The latter is really good. It makes your hair shiny, but it smells really bad. The Suave spray works, but it seems to lengthen the time it takes to straighten my hair. My hair doesn't frizz with these products.
Use SCP's... I got them recently and they are really good. They currently have a half price sale. You can only buy them on the internet. Get the same one as me... pink!! I used to have different straighteners and my hair would go frizzy as soon as i went outside but SCP's really help to keep your hair smooth and sleek. They're also really easy to use and I bet that they're as good as chi's.... without the price tag lol! Here's their website:

    http://www.hairstuffdirect.co.uk/

Trust me they're really good and if you dont like them.... then you can return them for a full refund within 2 weeks!!

    Hope I helped....

    Mine? X

    Cheap Hair straighteners?

I never thought I'd be asking this...since I always oppose to people getting cheap hair straighteners (Around 30 bucks or something) and I always recommend they just save for a more expensive one.

I need to know which hair straightener (Ceramic plated preferably) is relatively good but cheap as well. I was using a Fhi for two years until it burnt out today and I have a concert to go to tomorrow and I also don't have a hundred bucks to spare due to the cost of tickets, food, etc etc.

So I'm looking for highest heat, Full ceramic or plated (since this is a cheap one). (Metal plated of any kind is a definite no)Cheap Hair straighteners?
I've had cheap ones and they've all fried my hair. Can you borrow one for the concert?

Do you know someone who is a hairstylist? They can buy things cheaply at beauty supply stores not open to the public. Maybe someone would offer to pick one up for you. Cheap Hair straighteners?
I just bought a remington sleek and curl at Wal-Mart for 40$ and it works great for curling and straightening

k well i have 120 bucks right and i want to get a good straightener that will make my hair really nicely straight i dont have very thick hair its like normal but not thin either, and the straightener i have now works like crap so i want to get a new one but im on a budget so it has to be under 120 i know its hard to find a straightener that is really good less than 120 but anyone know one that i can get and i want it with a high heat setting not those crapy 20-40 heat ones like the 100-200 ones or somewhere around there or over and if you can, tell me a place i can get in metrotown then that would be perfect thanks =)Good hair straighteners.?
Go to a beauty supply store. They sell professional salon ones and you can easily buy one for that price.

Chi is garbage. I have one and it doesn't get nearly as hot as my no name iron which I just LOVE. My hair is really thick and it straightens it as well as makes it appear thinner. The more you play with it the more straighter you hair gets too.

Make sure it heats to 400 farenheit.Good hair straighteners.?
    chi! always chi.
a lot of people will tell yuo to get a chi. I can assure you that this is only for the brand name :|

CHIs have the reputation of breaking really easily.

if you are going to spend all of your money on a straigthener, it needs to last.

go for a sedu or solia- they aren't as fragile as CHIs

    its absolutely FANTASTIC!

It doesn't make your hair frizz , you can use it on dry, damp and wet hair , adjust the heat settings (so you don't burn your hair)

and unlike a Teflon, it works much better!

It was only about 70 AU and i didn't mind paying that

    much for it!

i also got a free case for the hair straightener after

i had finished working with it.

    I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT
    GHD!!!!!!!!

My GHD flat iron is better than my CHI flat iron. I love it! I've tried MANY flat irons, 'cause I straighten my hair every single day. I have short hair, and it's naturally wavy, so I have to straighten it. Plus, GHD flat irons are generally really thin and light.

Returning Hair Straighteners? or Buying ones?

I am thinking about buying a hair Straightener. I have heard that Chi straighteners are really good but i am not sure if i want to spend the money on one. (still, i might buy one.) However, i was thinking of buying a 1in Revlon ceramic straightener or Vidal Sassoon 1in ceramic Straightener from target. If i don't like them though, would i be able to return them? Also, are these two products worth buying? if not what are some other thin well working Straighteners i could buy that i would not have to order in stores?

if you're looking to invest in a good straightener, then i would go ahead and get the chi. they're high quality, and will last a long time.

as a hair stylist i recomend the chi i have been useing this one for years %26amp; i love it! http://www.mobile-blue.com/farouk-flat-iron-nano-edition-p-267.html?osCsid=1b125554bc091fcc81efa3453d852d27 it's the best flat iorn i ever used
yes they work really really good on my hair and my hair is to my shoulders i have one
omg i love my straightner that i got its call Sedu ionic ceremic straightner
def GHD its the best, without a doubt
the chi. it's the best and it's 100% ceramic so it doesn't burn your hair. its 150$ and worth every penny. its what i use and if you use the silk infusion before you straighten your hair it will make it silky soft smooth and it will smell delicious =]
    Definitely go with the GHD...
it works really good with my hair !
The best ones come from Hair salons and Hair places like the sallyee places. Revlon ceramic straighner works well too.
ghd is the best, as are their products! please make sure you use heat protection as virgin (untreated) hair is easy to damage.
I see Provillus Hair Loss Treatment for Men and women as very good because it has very valuable properties.

Why not go for it to prove me wrong or wright?
    chi is awesome :)

    Chi Hair-straighteners Broken :-(?

I bought a set of Chi Hair-straighteners in American just over a year ago. I live in Ireland so I have been using them successfully with an adapter. I always put them away when I am finished (Being careful not to have any kinks in the lead). The other day I went to switch them on and they just wouldn't turn on. I have checked the plugs and wires, fuses etc are fine. Has this happened anyone before? I really miss my straighteners! ThanksChi Hair-straighteners Broken :-(?
I heard you can call them and they will replace it.worth it to try? You have box still?Chi Hair-straighteners Broken :-(?
Yeah, the same thing happend to me.. It sucks, I miss my CHI.
I had the CHI for over 2 years and I liked it, except in the summer.

The GHD is so much better! Worth every penny...

    Good Luck!
If you still have the warranty then you can send it back, but I think it only lasts a year. If not you can always order another off the internet, Sorry!
Ugh! I got one for Christmas, and I was so happy, but I went to turn the thing on and it didn't come on. The instructions said to wait for it to wam up, but I waited 10 minutes. It actually never worked for me, so I gave up.

As for yours, I'd say contacting them and telling them your situation, surely they'll understand. At least, I hope they do :)

  • GHD Hair Straighteners - The Biggest Plate For Shoulder Length Hair?

Would you say the GHD straighteners that are for the thickest of hair will be okay to use on shoulder length hair? I bought the biggest plate ones for my mums birthday and she's wondering if she might need the slightly smaller plate because her hair is not very thick and is shorter then mine. i have long hair, between thick and fine really but i want her to keep the thick ones. i just think they work better and keep your hair straighter for longer as well then thinner plates because i have experienced both. hahaha i kinda rambled on but help would be nice and like what you use for your hair and stuff if you get me. i'll choose best answer and stuff! thank you xxGHD Hair Straighteners - The Biggest Plate For Shoulder Length Hair?
    Hi,

The following three ghds are designed for a specific type of hair (it may be that you've bought ghds that don't suit your hair!):

ghd mini styler - designed for very short/fine/boys hair.

ghd IV styler - designed for normal length and thickness hair.

ghd salon styler - designed for long/thick/Afro-Caribbean hair.

Each one of these are the best straightening when it comes to their suited hair types.

It sounds to me like your mum needs the Iv stylers!!

    Hope this helps : )

Best hair straighteners for thick, wavy hair?

I want to get a hair straightener, but I don't know which one to get because there are a lot out there, and I don't know which ones are good and which ones aren't. And whenever I try to straighten my hair with my crappy hair straightener, and it can only straighten the bottom half of my hair but not the top half, and it also drys my hair out. So I want to get a hair straightener that doesn't dry it out, and actually straigtens my hair. And my budget is around 30 dollars, so it's doesn't have to be GREAT but but it just has to work. And I live in Canada so I don't have some of the same shops that the people have in the U.S. and please don't send me websites because I can't buy stuff online. And if you can, please also tell me some gel, cream, whatever in my hair so it can be shiny and not dry out and get all frizzy when I straighten it. Thnx %26lt;3Best hair straighteners for thick, wavy hair?
Hi, I have the same problem. There is a product you can get at a stylist. Made by Paul Mitchell called ';super skinny serum';. if you put about a quarter sized amount on your hair when it's still wet after you get out of the shower it will work alot better. Next, get your hair thinned by your stylist. I was told the best straighteners have to heat up to at least 400 degrees and have a ceramic plate. Beyond that.. just go shopping and stick to those requirements. I bought a great one here in the U.S... but I am sure you will find one up there! Have fun... and happy hair day!Best hair straighteners for thick, wavy hair?
Ok.. first of all there are very expensive flat irons out there, that work amazing but there are alot of flat irons that are good enough. I would suggest, finding one that has ceramic plates (make sure they are solid ceramic not just ceramic coated), second you want one that has multiple settings (this way you can control the heat, so you don't add more damage to your hair). Also, using good products will help getting your hair smoother, I would suggest Super Skinny by Paul Mitchell

Good luck... I hope this helped
i imagine that my hair is thicker and wavier, so my suggestion might help

i purchased one on amazon. a conair curved straightener. although they have more than the curved ones. they also sell them at walgreens/cvs/walmart etc. anyway, it makes my hair BONE STRAIGHT. i used to get relaxers, but this makes my hair straighter so i no longer get them. and it works on the whole strand of hair. it cost like $17.
I don't know what the conversion rate is between here and where you are, but gee, 30 dollars?!! Gosh, I don't know if there's much out there! (I have curly hair too) :-)
use the CHI straightener. i have it, and it's so nice. you like run it thru ur hair once and it gets totally straight easily. i saw it at target fore like 130 bucks. good deal. and it's got ceramic plates, which won't pull out hairs and it runs thru the hair really smoothly. it has high heat settings so it gets even really curly hair straight
the best straightener ive ever tried was a corioliss i have two now its awsome cuz it holds moisture in ur hair and makes it very flowy and soft compared to all the other straighteners ive tried it felt AMAZING on my hair

i have a lot of pretty curly thick hair so if it can do that to my hair im sure it can do it to urs
okay well my hair is a lot like yours. after going through about 4 straighteners that either broke or just didn't work, i found the perfect one. the brand is called coriolis. This straightner is AMAZING. it can also be used as a curling iron as well. google the brand and im sure you can buy it online easily. the only downfall is that it is pretty expensive. but it really is worth every penny.

%26amp;%26amp; dont forget to protect your hair before you straighten it by using either a spray or cream. these products protect your hair from the intense amount of heat given off. i personally love the protectant spray finesse offers. it smells fabulous and leaves hair silky smooth.

    good luckk =]
my hair is about the same as urs hella curly an frizzy!! i bought a str8ner that makes it look really shiny! an flat!! its the perfect str8ner its called porcelain ceramic! it costed meh about 45 dollars an comes with a str8ing creme that protects your hair from getting damegd!! it creates smooth silky hair!!! it heats up to 446 degrees!! try it you will be happy with the results!! promise!!
    herstyler or t3!

    great straighteners but sorta expensive.

at most $200. i had them both though and theyre great.

t3 has a 2 yr warranty and mine lasted about 3-4 yrs after dropping it and all that. im using the herstyler right now though and i love it.
i would go to a beauty supply store and ask them what is best for you hair type

    Permanent Hair Straighteners?

I was just wonderin wat every1 thinks about it im a 16 year old fella n I wanna get it done so I can spike me hair again it only started goin kinda frizzy/curly about 2 years ago so I was gonna get it straightened but I want to know wat every1 thinks about it does it work? Em if I have 2 upload pics for people 2 see it then can some1 tell me how 2 lol thanksPermanent Hair Straighteners?
If your sure you want it permanently straight, the best way to go is get your hair flat-pressed at a hairdressers. it wont last FOREVER, but it will last for a few years.

another way is to buy a hair straightener and use herbal essences straightening spray (even though it is for girls im sure it will work for you too!)Permanent Hair Straighteners?
since your hair is so short if there is damage it can easly be handled. i am not usally a big fan because i have seen some really bad jobs done and girls loose a lot of hair. but since your hair is shorter you can play around with it a little more and not worry as much.. i say go for it.

    Cheap hair straighteners?

    What are some good ones?

And whats a good heat protectant?

    Thanks! :)Cheap hair straighteners?
i would say a porcelain straightener and it also depends on your price range but you can get pretty good prices on themCheap hair straighteners?
I have a Remmington Tstudio hair straigtener. I got it at Target. It was super cheap and it works really well.

I'm not sure about the heat protectant. Every kind I've ever had has worked pretty much the same.
The best cheap hair straightener I've had is the Revlon Model RV059C. Its a 2 inch plate straightener. Yes, its not ceramic, but it didn't really damage my hair when i used a protector. That straightener was wonderful, under 20 bucks, and i only needed to pass it through once to get beautiful shiny hair, it did it really fast, and it lasted me for years.

I tried other straighteners, like conair and stuff, and they dont seem to do a good job, i have very coarse and unruly hair so they wouldnt do anything for me, and i had to pass it through several times to get any results.

I havent been able to find this straightener in stores so i ordered it online the last time from drugstore.com.

I upgraded to a chi cuz i had a lil more money, but if i didnt, I would have stayed with the Revlon one.

I use Redken heat protector and thast good, but you can use any other ones you find in the store. A cheap one thats good is one by Treseme, you can find it anywhere.
of course with ';cheap'; irons, you aren't going to get professional results, but i think that Salon inspired brands like ZOE which can be found at ulta, Wigo and Remington all offer affordable options that work pretty good for a really good price.

Ulta also offers more salon inspired brands like Zoe, that work better than Revlon at a decent price

    Wigo:

    Remington:

As for heat protectors, a lot of them work the same. Tresemme, Suave, and Vo5 all make heat sprays, but sally's offers a great product called BEYOND THE ZONE, but it is a little bit more pricey than the drug store sprays:

    http://www.sallybeauty.com/heat-protecti鈥?/a>

Also, to prevent damaging your hair, use a deep conditioner once a week :)

    good luck!
Sorry but don't even bother. A cheap flat iron is CHEAP, it will not work as you would expect for it to work and your hair won't stay staight for very long. If you really want it then just save up for a while until you buy a good one. But your not going to find a good one
you should try the morphy richards head gear really good and worth the money and its not that expensive either and has a long life!...you can use any heat protectant serum as long as its a trustable brand

    all the best

    cheers=)
conair it is cheap and its good
the ones at sally beauty are pretty good

i have a jilbere de paris and it works good(:

another good one is vo5 heat protectant spray which comes in a scarlet colored bottle

can you get one which has a hairdryer option too? haha or is that my imagination?Best hair straighteners with curling and other style options i.e. crimping
Tourmaline Ceramic should be your best friend. It reduces the damage that is done to your hair when heat styling. You can buy a smaller flat iron (mine is 5/8';) to replace your curling iron and curlers. Some flat irons have interchangable plates for crimping and other stuff.

you write every word with a capital letter. lol.

edit: I don't know if a perm is bad for your hair, but I guess you could get one in alternative to straightening your hair everyday.
well you seem to have great hair but you will eventually start lossing them meaning they will start falling out. My own hair is like Huge Waves but i barely straighten it because this much use will definitley make you go a lil bald.
if they sed it thins your hair thats a lie...well, for me anyways. my hair is REALLY thick and it doesn't feel any thinner to me and I straighten my hair a lot just like you. But on the losing hair part that will eventually happen....my moms a hair stylist and, yeah. GHD hair straighteners question?

Okay so just before I was straightening my hair and I noticed that the LED light was going off for periods of time and then coming back on, I touched the heat pad thingys (stupid idea) and they were still hot enough to do my hair with, the light only goes off for like five seconds at a time.

I told my mother and she said that she will get my father to have a look at the tomorrow. I had a look on the internet, and it says that it might be a problem with the cable, and the cable would need replacing.

I have some other hair straighteners, Remington Wet 2 Straight, would I be able to use the cable off that for my GHDs?GHD hair straighteners question?
    No.GHD hair straighteners question?
    I don't get it.

    Good hair straighteners or brands?

Right now I have a Remington Wet2Straight. It works pretty well I guess but I know there's better options out there, or maybe one that works especially well for my kind of hair, which is really thick, long, layered, and naturally curly. I live in an incredibly hot and humid climate also. My problem is that while I'm at home in the AC, my hair is fine and stays straight, but as soon as I walk outside it frizzes up like there's no tomorrow and loses its shape.

It could just be that I need different hair product also. Right now I don't really use anything except shampoo/conditioner on a regular basis. John Freida Radiant Red.

So, any ideas I'd be grateful for.Good hair straighteners or brands?
The problem you are having is that your hairstyle is not properly set when you walk out into the humidity. The problem could be the type of straightener you are using or the hair products you are using. I have used cheaper straighteners that you can buy at Wal-Mart, but they never really fully straightened my hair unless I spent a lot of time on it. I bought a true ceramic pro off of eBay and realized the difference in one use. If you can get a ceramic straightener like a chi or true ceramic pro, it will definitely make a difference. The second thing I started using in my hair is hair serum. It will get rid of the frizziness in your hair. I just use a little on my hair and it really helps. Good luck!!!Good hair straighteners or brands?
well, conair hair straighteners are good. and i never tried them, but bed hed is also a really good brand name, i would get the v05 (i think it is) straightening gel. and spray your hair down with hairspray afterwords.

also use herbalessence dangeroulsy straight shampoo conditinor mousee and spray and all there other products. just find the one that works for you

oh yeah and i have thin hair that is really easy to straighten so it might be why all this stuff works for me. but i kinda wish i had naturaly curly hair cause it is hard to curl hair, but easier to straighten

GHDs. They are expensive, but worth it if your hair is really thick. They heat quickly, straightenn well, but you have to have your hair dry before you use them because otherwise you'll 1) Break the straighteners and 2) Break your hair

Who cares if they are expensive? They last for years. I had my first one for 5 years and it still works as new.

If you get a cheap, crappy one it will not last for long, and you'll end up buying a new one in a few months, and it will come up to the same price.

If you're not willing to spend that much on a GHD, try eBay.Which hair straighteners do you recommend (not GHDs because they are too expensive)?
i have babyliss. they're a reasonable price and are so convenient for any hairstyles. They also don't take long to heat up and the temperatures are reasonable enough.

I have natural wavy hair and they straighten them perfectly. so i recommend babyliss. :)..

I hope my answer helped you.
From my personal experience, i have a Corioliss Straightener it's pink. they have a website. just go to google and type in Corioliss. it was a little expensive, but hey it's lasted me for over 3 years now.. and i love it. my hair isn't the easiest thing to straighten either, i have thick curly hair.

    so yeah try Corioliss. :]
    CHI

    Wall-Heathy infusions

Almost anything that costs more than 拢15 by conair is good.

CHI is really good but i can get expensive.

NOOOO Revlon! Revlon is THE WORST brand of hair straightener if your looking for results.
i would either go to a beauty first store: http://www.beautyfirst.com/cgi-shopper/s鈥?/a> or a target or fred meyer or some place like that they have good ones that arent so expensive
I've got these amazing straiteners which work really quickly and well, theyre called 'Babyliss 2099U straiteners' and you can have them cordless or with the wire (its detachable) heres a link : http://www.bennettsonline.co.uk/productb鈥?/a>

and their only about 25 quid so their quite cheap. they heat up in about 30 secs
The best straightener I've ever used is the Helen of Troy brand. Depending on the size, they usually run between 35 to 70 dollars. I've only been able to find them at places that specifically sell beauty products, like Sally's Beauty Supply.
umm babybliss is wicked nice, but kinda expenisve ; [, under 100$$ and then you could always do the conair or something cheap, they work, just not amazingly.. but they still do a good job : ]

    hopew this helped

please vote best anwser ; ]
I use this Remington damage defence straightener, It works just as well and does less damage. And you don't have to have damaged hair to use it. The better your hair condition, the better it will work.
    I have a vidal sasoon.

    It has metal plates.

    It was about 30 dollars.

The ceramic plates are more expensive.

I don't know how those work.

But the metal works very well.
You can pick anyone at Marshals! If you have a Marshals store near you, go there! They have the BEST straighteners for about $30-40. And they are just like ones proffessionals use!! HOPE I HELPED! %26lt;333

CHI works well for me and they're cheaper than GHD. I am in the US though so you will have to check if they have them in your country.
Chi straighteners are like the best.

You can't really buy a good straightener for only that much. Save up for a better one... the Remingtons will damage your hair greatly, even if it will claim not to. Why buy a piece of rubbish for 30 pounds when you can get an amazingly good one for 50 more?

Professional irons will keep your hair straight for weeks and weeks, just as long as you keep it dry. (You'll need to wash your hair though... :S) Email me if you are interested in buying the real deal.Which hair straighteners are better out of these?
Remington Wet to straight fries your hair. It makes it frizzy. Over all I wouldn't recommend a Remington period. Both my Salon and I use Vidal Sassoon. It is inexpensive and I'm quite satisfied with the results. I don't know how many pounds equals a dollar but at a local drug store Vidal Sassoon's are only around $15.

Chemical hair straighteners? What can you suggest? Professional or at home? Please help!?

Ok, I have really frizzy thick curly hair and I hate it. I can't do anything with it so I usually just throw it up in a pony tail or pull it back with a jaw clip. I REALLY want super straight hair. I don't have time to flat iron or blow dry every morning. I've heard of the Japanese hair straighteners, can you tell me about that? Or any other treatment that will give me straight hair with little work? I can blow dry it in the morning if I have too, but right now with the curls and the frizz, it takes forever and never looks good, so I don't even bother.

Have to agree don't do it. You need to embrace your curls and learn how to manage and take care of them and then you will learn to love them. I have very curly and have hated most of my life but after I got out of high-school I just kind of decided that it wasn't going anywhere so I embraced it. A few years ago I really learned how to take care of it and now I love it. There are specific Iron cleaners that you can purchase at beauty supply stores. I buy mine at ';sally's beauty supply.'; It's safer for the ceramic on the straightening iron and will help protect it further.
Damp rag with warm water and a drip off soap.

Hair Straightener? Looking for one that works quickly and gives a lot of shine?

My price limit is about $50, but if the straightener performs exceptionally well, I am willing to make adjustments.

Thanks! I can't wait. :)Hair Straightener? Looking for one that works quickly and gives a lot of shine?
Zoe hair straightener, its just $30.00 and it has a special protection that doesn't damage you're hair as much. I got it at Ulta for that price, it's regularly $40.00

hope this helped!Hair Straightener? Looking for one that works quickly and gives a lot of shine?
If you're looking for a good hair straightner that works quickly and gives alot of shine, then you should get the Chi straightner it is about 100 dollars but It works pretty well, just make sure you don't straighten you're hair like everyday because too much heat would damage your hair.
listen just check out irons look at the WIRE of the iron if it iis fat - like 1,5 cm wide - it will work fast and give shine. the key is to find one that bears good amount of electricity %26gt;%26gt; means great deal of heat%26gt;%26gt; means shiny straight super great locks.
You can't get a good flat iron for less then $100 unless you look for a good used one on kijij or something. Some good names are Torlen, ghd, chi, biosilk, metro or infinity
    Infiniti by Conair.

Its only about $40 at any store/drugstore.

it make your hair REALLY shiny %26amp; takes out frizz.

Just remember a heat tamer spray after!!!
i prefer the herstyler, which i got at a kiosk in the mall. it was $70 though.

I think mine came from Priceline or something? My ex bought it for me (with his Mum's assistance of course) so it would have just come from a shopping centre, so try Priceline, Myer, Kmart or something like that. If the prices on the link are correct, expect to pay around $80-100. Which is a third of the price of a ghd. And a million times better than the shitty old $50 straightener I had before.
As a stylist, I have used a lot of flat irons/hair straighteners, including Sedu, Hai, Infrashine, Chi, Paul Mitchell, Solia, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss Ghd, T3, Kenta etc. You should get a Professional hair straightener, they style much better and faster, and most importantly, they protect your hair.

    In terms of performance:

The best ones are: Sedu, Kenta, Solia, Infrashine, Ghd and Chameleon. These are top of the line professional brands

Above average: Chi, Hai, Paul Mitchell,

Average: T3, Big Sexy, Andis, Babyliss

Below Average: Conair, Vidal Sassoon, Revlon, Bed Head etc. These are cheap consumer brands that you will find in drugstore. If you care about your hair, do NOT buy them.

=== Flat Iron Hair Straighteners FAQ ======

Q: What size should I choose?

A: For most people, 1';, 1-1/4'; or 1.5'; are all good choices. If you have very thick, coarse, long or ethic hair, bigger size (1.5'; or 2';) will save you some time. If you have thin, fine hair, get a smaller one (1'; or 3/4';).

Q: What temperature should I should on my hair?

A: Based on my expereince, 380F is the average temperature to use. If you hair is thick and coarse, bump it up a bit, if you hair is fine or overprocessed, start it at somewhere 300F, and try it. If the setting does not work well for you, increase a bit until you get a setting that works well for you but does not burn your hair. Trial and error.

    the chi straightner

it is amazing, it lasts FOREVER, and it is ceramic also which is good for your hair, but not cheap quality ceramic like conair and paul mitchell.

a bit more expensive then your average target straightner, but worth it!

it doesn't even damage your hair, and it leaves hair soft and smooth
GHD - Good Hair Day. Its available I think probably on ebay somewhere for cheaper but its about 120 in Peter Mark hair salon nationwide. Its the best hair straightener around, also makes the hair shine alot better! Even for a blonde like me! : )
Paul Mitchell straightener. It's amazing. Ceramic-which is good for your hair. And it gets hot enough so that it keeps the moisture in instead of frying it. I think mine was like 50 bucks... Well worth it!
Get a Hair Rebond. It lasts for more than a year.

From 20-100 dollars depending on how long is your hair.

It's better you know than those hair products.

do you have one of those round brushes? if you do, you can blow dry it like while your brushing with one of those brushes. its hard to explain, but its like as you go down your hair with the brush, you blow dry it in that spot. they probably do it like that when you get your hair cut, if you dont know what i mean. also, if you have a curling iron, instead of wrapping your hair around the iron, you just make it go through it straight. sorry if i dont make any sense lol, hope i helped tho!How do you straighten your hair without a hair straightener?
I would use a big round brush while blow drying your hair....Or you can flip hair upside down and have a friend help you...you can use an iron (for clothes) on a very low setting..but It's not recommended. I use to do this when I was younger.

I completely understand-- I have naturally wavy/curly hair and I used to think it was impossible to straighten my hair. I suggest saving up for the CHI. It's a professional straightening iron, and it's a bit expensive, but it's the only thing that works. The regular brands in the stores don't do anything at all for really naturally wavy/curly hair. You definitely need the CHI and John Frieda's FrizzEase Serum. Also, before you straighten your hair, you should take a few steps:

    1. Obviously, shampoo and condition your hair.

    2. While it's still wet, spray in some John Frieda Straighening Spray.

    2. After spraying that in (this is most important other than the straightener itself), use one pump of John Frieda FrizzEase Serum ointment/oil. It's amazing at keeping frizz out. It's the only product that works without making your hair/scalp oily and weighing your hair down. Don't use much, though. I have long hair and use only one pump, because a little goes a long way.

    3. Blow dry your hair with a round brush, getting most of the curl and wave out. Don't worry if your hair looks crazy and is still wavy. Just dry it and brush it out so there's no tangle.

    4. Seperate you hair into sections and straighten from the scalp down to the roots. The CHI is amazing!!!

    Good luck,

How do you curl your hair with a hair straightener. What is the technique?

I do this all the time. With a section of hair, start near the scalp and gently pull straight down. As you get to about the mid-section of your hair, start to turn the flatiron up (flip) and pull the hair away from you rather than straight down. This should give you a nice big flip in the middle and at the end of your hair. If you only want a small flip, then wait until you're at the end of the hair before you flip the iron.

If you want tighter curls, I'm not sure how you would do that. I've never tried it because my hair's already curly and I like to flatten it.How do you curl your hair with a hair straightener. What is the technique?
i have straightened my hair with a curler, but not the other way aroundHow do you curl your hair with a hair straightener. What is the technique?
When you get near the ends, move slowly %26amp; turn the straightener either under or over (depending on how you want the bend). A straightener won't ';curl'; your hair but will give a flip up or under.
straighten your hair like normal but when you do the ends, rotate the straightener in the angle you want your hair to go. i curl it out so i straighten it by going straight down until the ends (straightener parallel to floor). make sense? kinda bad description sorry. good luck!
If you do this you will have very big curls which can sometimes be beautiful.Take your hair just like you'd straighten it and go down to the tipes and roll up!

this straightener called sedu is absolutely wonderful. i have reasonably difficult hair to get perfectly straight and this one does the job every time. i've been using it for over 2 years now and i have yet to notice any more damage in my hair. if anything it's just smoothed it out more and made it look more healthy. yes it's a little pricey at around i think like 200 bucks, but, trust me, you get what you pay for with this one.Any suggestions for a good hair straightener?
    CHI all the way
CHI Ultra straightner. I'm pretty sure the ';Ultra'; version is only available at Ulta...but it's amazing.

CHI is expensive but worth it! they're great...and they have a 5 year warranty.

also, you could try a heat protectant product. you can find fairly cheap ones at a place like Target. L'Oreal has a pretty good one called ';Hot Straight'; in a hot pink bottle (only for straight styles, obviously.) I also like Tresemme European Heat Tamer (black bottle). This one can be used for any kind of heat styling tools: blow dryer, curling iron, hot curlers, straightener, etc.

    good luck!
    .
me to have a reallt good one but i want to get a dam good one ok the sedu or the chi the breaks aolt read here og to folica.com and see the pix of the hair it's an oline beauty store OK SEDU which is the best flat iron in the usa,and the chi which rocks......but breaks so chi or sedu chi is 80.00 and sedu is 125.00 oe if you want the 1in''plates 118.00 good luck
I started using ';HerStyler'; about 2 months ago and I love it! It works really good, and it has ceramic plates that produce negative ions, that protect your hair from damage or dryness %26amp; keeps your hair鈥檚 natural moisture. It even makes my hair shiny when I use it.. plus, it comes in all different colors! : )

Nothing wrong with a guy taking care of himself and trying to look good. Lots of guys use straightners, the big girls blouses are the ones who are too scared to use products thought of as womens products : )

Hair Straighteners? Conair Infinit Hair Designer...any good?

okay so i went to Kmart today and i saw this:

    http://www.conair-store.com/imagesEdp/p5鈥?/a>

and well i was looking at it and it looked like it might work pretty well for my hair. But i was wondering if anyone has ever used it before. Its the Conair Infiniti Hair Designer. Apparently it shines, dries, and straightens your hair all in one. I guess you use it like a hiar brush as it blows air like a hair dryer or something. Has anyone ever used one of these? are they worth $50?Hair Straighteners? Conair Infinit Hair Designer...any good?
Ehh, it doesn't really work. It was awkward and it tangles my hair. Drying time was not increased at ALL. I ended up re-selling mine on ebay.

Do yourself a favor and get a Tourmaline (type, not brand) dryer. It cuts drying in half. Also, get a big barrel brush. You can clip hair in sections and dry one at a time quickly when you use the dryer and barrel brush together.

I have a Hot Tools Tourmaline dryer that works GREATHair Straighteners? Conair Infinit Hair Designer...any good?

    Hair Straighteners for guys?

I'm after a good straightener that doesn't make my hair look like crap like ones i've used previously, but i don't want want to spend too much so not GHD's and i don't have a credit card so not off the internet either, so a cheapish one (preferably under $150 that i can buy from a shop). I already have FAIRLY straight hair i want to use it to get the kinks out and make it look awesome also any suggestions on products, shampoos, conditioners are welcome to.

BTW, I'm a guy if that makes any difference.

    ThanksHair Straighteners for guys?

BedHead straighteners are wonderful--- I'd suggest the 1';, which I think is blue. They cost somewhere from $30 - $45. Longs Drugs carries them, and I think Target might.

As for tips, lightly spray your hair with water before straightening. And if you want it to stay really straight for a longer period of time, lightly mist your hair with a medium-strong hold hairspray.
best straightener for your bucks would be a CHI. if you have a local jc penney salon, go there. i work at a JCP Salon and we have sales all the time on CHI irons. if you hit it just right, you can get one for $99. you wont be happy with an iron from a drug store, it will not be as good quality even though they are cheaper.
you should try the little Straighteners there just a miniature

or small version whatever you wanna call it

an use some hair serum to add moisture after you straighten it

and also get a thermal hair Protector spray.

    hope that helped

hey, im looking for a flat iron that can also curl hair. ive heard that the CHI, sedu, solia, T3, and the HerSyler are good but im not sure about which one to get. also, i have shoulder legnth, wavy, kinda frizzy hair.

btw, i have had the limited edition pink CHI for a year now and am not satisfird with it. one, because it damages my hair and two, because it doesnt curl properly. so plz dont recomend that one
